London a4uexpo 2011 10/22/11
What a great week we had at the a4u expo London. This year we had a change of venue – held this year at the Hilton west London. Very nice venue. For those of you not familiar with the event its an annual event where online marketers, publishers, affiliates and merchants gather to talk about the industry. Here’s my thoughts on this year’s 2 day event:
- Lot’s of new affiliates and merchants – seemed to be lots more stands with new merchants that have never come to the expo.
- Great seminars – lots of information particularly on the Google panda update. Google guys are always willing to answer your questions…
- Very friendly publishers – meet so many publishers who run weird and wonderful websites.
- Build relationships with your affiliate network – have a good relationship with your affiliate manager. They can give you tips/advice and give you special commission rates. Remember when you make money, they make more money.
Here’s a selection of hints/tips that I picked up from this year’s expo:
- http://www.kissinsights.com/ - Great free tool that surveys users whilst they are on your site. Need instant feedback from your visitors, activate and run this tool for a few hours. It will tell you all the information that google analytics misses out.
- http://addictomatic.com - Automatically create a custom page with the search term of your choice.
- http://www.google.com/webmasters/ - It’s pretty stupid but I was never signed up to this with all my sites, only a few – rookie mistake!
- http://www.searchmetrics.com/en/ - Saw this software in action at one of the seminars. Works brilliantly. They have a free trial if you want to try it.
- http://www.touchgraph.com/seo - Touchgraph creates an interactive java spider diagram for any search term. Try it out, it works really well…
- https://www.odesk.com – One last one, outsource all your tasks that you can’t around to completing.
New UPDATE: I have just found out you can some of the presentation slides here: http://www.slideshare.net/a4uexpo. Great resource!
